Job description

We are looking for a caring, reliable and dedicated Female Support Worker to join our team supporting an individual in her own home.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about person-centred care, promoting independence and helping the individual we support to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.

As a Support Worker, you will work as part of a small, dedicated team to provide consistent, high-quality support tailored to the individual's needs, preferences and personal outcomes.

You will help create a safe, respectful and positive environment where the individual is supported to maintain their independence, make choices and participate in everyday life.

*A Female employee is required for this post, due to the need for occasional personal care. This is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

You will:

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support in accordance with individual care plans.
  • Promote independence, dignity, choice, safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Support the individual with daily routines and activities.
  • Encourage and support participation in social activities and community engagement.
  • Build and maintain a respectful, trusting and positive relationship with the individual.
  • Provide consistent and compassionate support throughout each shift.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and managers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain appropriate records and follow organisational policies and procedures.
  • Work in accordance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.

Hours & Shift Pattern

This role operates on a 4-week repeating rota shared between four members of staff.

Hours: 168 hours per 4-week rota
Shift pattern:

  • 2 × 48-hour block shifts
  • 2 × 36-hour block shifts
  • Day and sleeping shifts included within the rota
